The Cardinal Suite at Hawthorn Haven Cabins & Chapel is on the secluded lower level of The Bird House and is a peaceful, quiet getaway for up to four guests. The bedroom is complete with a queen bed, smart TV with cable, Wi-Fi, and a full bathroom.

The living room has a comfortable memory-foam queen-sized convertible couch and smart TV with cable and Wi-Fi. The fully stocked kitchen and dining table make your stay convenient. You'll love the charm and warmth of this welcoming cabin that feels like your own home.

Spend Time With Mother Nature

Provided on the queen bed is a beautiful handmade quilt from a local artist. In your cabin are directions to visit the local quilt maker and take a peek at her amazing collection, all made on a long-arm quilting machine within walking distance of the cabin. You are welcome to stop by and check out her beautiful work!

The road outside is paved all the way up to the driveway, which is right next to the small barn with the donkey and chickens. Feel free to visit with the animals, but please do not enter the corral for your own safety.

Get in touch with Mother Nature and disconnect from the world. Turn off the A/C, open the doors and windows and enjoy the fresh mountain breeze.

Additional Information

THERE IS NO SMOKING AND NO PETS PERMITTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. - There will be a $300 charge if there is a sign of smoking or having a pet.

There will be clean towels and linens in the unit for your stay. A Charcoal grill and fire pit are available for you to use for your grilling and S'more cravings :)

The kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking needs including a drip coffee maker, blender, toaster, etc. The pots, pans and other cooking utensils must be washed and put away prior to your departure.

All garbage must be removed from the unit at the end of your vacation. Garbage must be taken to the dumpster located on the refrigerator are directions.

We stock the unit with 1 roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, a roll of paper towels, couple of trash bags, dish soap, hand soap and some cleaning supplies to start your vacation. You will need to buy more for your stay once these are used.

Directions: You should get to Hawthorn Road itself using GPS, just fine.
1. After turning Left onto HAWTHORN ROAD
2. Continue Straight on pavement for 0.5 miles- Point of View Drive, DO NOT TAKE a left (gravel) on Hawthorn.
3. Continue straight up Point of View drive until you CROSS THE 1ST SPEED BUMP.
4. Turn LEFT onto the gravel road AND GO THROUGH GATE (next to the barn with fence and 2 mailboxes, sheep, chickens)
5. IF, you cross the 2nd speed bump and reach HILLS OF CATALOOCHEE sign, you have gone too far!
6. The road will y after you pass the barn, STAY LEFT.
7. Please Park in the designated area for your suite to assure people can pass beside you to get to the other cabins.
8. Please do not park in the grass.
9. Continue straight, your cabin will be the one coming up on your right.
10. Please park in the lower driveway, as this is the easiest entrance for the Lower Level Cardinal Suite.
11. To enter the Cardinal Suite - (Lower Level), walk onto the porch and use the main door with the lockbox.
Check-Out Instructions
1. Remove all trash from cabin- dispose trash in dumpster on property. (We have wild animals, please don't invite them!) Unfortunately, we charge a $50 fee if this is not done.
1. Set thermostats/heaters to 61 degrees (fall/winter months).
2. Leave the cabin in a similar state to how you found it—tidy up, but no deep cleaning.
3. Leave slept-in beds unmade (don’t worry about stripping them).
4. Empty the refrigerator of perishable or expired items. You may leave frozen items, newly purchased condiments, or factory-sealed foods for future guests. (Use your discretion.)
5. Wash, dry, and put dishes away.
6. Check for any personal items (Did you check closet, bathroom, shower, and under beds?)
7. Clean BBQ if used.
